It is with great sadness that the family of Victor Samuel Turenne announces his passing at the age of 93 years on February 23, 2024.
Victor had a rich and long life with deep commitment to his faith, family and church. He was married to his beloved wife Doris for 66 years until her passing in 2018.
He loved being part of The Community Players and served the group in a variety of ways, from president to performer for many years. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. He was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox, played golf in leagues in his earlier years and throughout his life was an avid jigsaw puzzle maker.
He built the house that he raised his family in with Doris and lived there until his passing. He will be lovingly remembered by family and numerous friends.
He leaves three daughters, Gloria Turenne, Therese Mitchell and her husband William, and Linda Kenney and her husband Robert. He leaves two grandchildren, Zackary Mitchell and Tania Turenne.
Born on January 5, 1931 Victor was a lifelong resident of Central Falls, RI and a lifelong communicant of Holy Spirit Catholic Church (formerly St. Mathieu) in Central Falls.
Calling hours are Monday, February 26th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Keefe Funeral Home, Lincoln, RI. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 27th at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Central Falls, RI.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care, 1085 North Main Street, Providence RI 02904.
